If I were the journalist who wants to inform the information about McMahon-Hussein Correspondence, Balfour Declaration, and Sykes-Picot Agreement, I will mainly talk about the main reason of those events. The main reason of those events was Great Britain. For example, Sykes-Picot Agreement was caused when representative of Great Britain, Mark Sykes, and Frennch representative, Jourjo Picot, had decision about Arabian land division.

Nationalism in 19th century

What role did nationalism play in 19th century Palestine?

During 19th century, Jews brought up the issue that the Palestine belongs to them. The reason is because they lived in the country, and they thought that god told them to regain Palestine because they lost it. When Jews were gathered, nationalism played a important role in them. They could believe and trust each other, so that they could get to the same goal.
However, during the class, I learned that the nationalsim also play a role in fleeing from Ottomon Empire, and autonomy/independent. Also, nationalism played role in Arab. with autonomy, and fleeing from compression.

In class reading P.15-29

About 2000 years ago, Ottoman Empire assailed Israel. As a result, Jews needed to move to Europe. When they got back in 19th century, there were only 25,000 people in Palestine and Syria. Most of them were descendants of Spanish Jewry and ancient local families, and they were Ottoman subjects. The Ottoman state was based on the principle of Muslim superiority and the Jews along with the Christians were regarded as infidels and second-class citizens (Dhimmis) and had to pay a special poll tax (jizyah) for the protection of the state and as a sign of their inferior status. This kind of special control, pressure or compress caused to reduce the population.
